Adam Raga (Gas Gas) has finished victorious in the Indoor Trial of Belfast held tonight in the Odyssey Arena in front of 5. 000 spectators. This is the third triumph of the year for the Spanish rider who has widen his advantage in the top position of the overall standings.
Raga, who had already dominated in the first lap, has been by far the best in a final competed against Dougie Lampkin (Montesa), and his team mate in Gas Gas Jeroni Fajardo.
For the Montesa rider, this second position represents his return to the podium after five rounds where he had always been out of the final. It had been just here where Lampkin achieved a place within the honour positions of an Indoor Trial for the last time, as he was in last year’s Belfast rostrum. Now all the permanent riders in the Championship have at least achieved the podium once.
Two points prevented Toni Bou (Beta), who had won the previous round in Barcelona, from getting to the final, whilst current runner-up in the World Championship, Albert Cabestany (Sherco) has made an unexpected failure in section three, finding himself out of the final of the event which has marked the halfway of the season.
The seventh round of the FIWTC will be the Grand Prix of Russia, which will take place in Saint Petersburg next Sunday 12th of February. Toni Bou and Tadeusz Blazusiak (Scorpa) will be the wild-cards riders for this event. In 2005, Adam Raga took the victory there, with Cabestany and Lampkin completing the podium.
