British championship // Kinlochleven - Preview

Tuesday the 12th of September 2006 by jitsie

The sixth round of the Colin Appleyard A.C.U. 2006 British Trials Championship takes place this weekend, Sunday, September 17, at Kinlochleven. The organisers are the Lochaber Motor Club.

Graham Jarvis hopes to extend his lead over Steve Colley in the Colin Appleyard A.C.U. British Trials Championship. With two events to run, Lochaber and Bradford, in September and October Jarvis has a dozen points in hand over Isle of Man star Colley. Will the Highlands bring luck for the Canterbury MRS Sherco rider? Scottish trials champion Gary MacDonald will head the home challenge in the championship class on his MRS Sherco.

Former Youth national champion Sam Haslam leads the Expert class from Devon’s Joe Baker. Just three championship points separate Haslam, Baker and former leader Dan Thorpe. Talented Scottish riders Gavin Johnston, Crawford Carrick-Anderson, Gary Kennedy, William Gillespie, Sean Mackay, Donald MacPhie, Darren MacCrae and Richard McKreeTop will enjoy plenty of local support. Youth rider Jack Challoner, from Halifax, the new U.E.M. Youth Trials Champion, heads the five strong class of Youth riders who do not score in the Expert class but ride the same trials course.
