What had been a strong rumour for a long while has finally been confirmed today: Toni Bou signed a two year deal with the factory Repsol Montesa-HRC team.
Born on 17 October 1986 and a resident of Piera (Barcelona), Toni Bou got his first taste of this form of motorcycling competition in 2001 by winning the Junior Spanish Championship that very same season. He continued by winning the 250cc European Cup in 2002 and became European Champion in 2003. Last year he was part of the winning team at the Trial des Nations, runner-up in the Spanish indoor championship and fifth in the outdoor World Championship.
Toni Bou: “My goal is to get to be world champion and I think that being part of the Repsol-Montesa HRC team is the best option for my future and the logical step to take in this direction. The team has a structure with enormous technical capabilities. You only have to see that the Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT has won more world trials this year than any other bike and think that I’ll be alongside the likes of riders such as Dougie Lampkin and Takahisa Fujinami, who I’ll definitely learn a lot from. The last five years with my old team have been great, but I’m in no doubt that my future now lies with Repsol-Montesa HRC”
