Geoff Aaron, the 10-time US National Trials Champion, has announced that his entertainment company ERE signed a deal with Montesa that will see him and ERE teammate Keith Wineland ride the new Montesa 4RT four-stroke during the 2007 season.
After 20 years of participation in the sport of trials, Aaron is retiring from active competition, but will focus on extreme riding demonstrations with Red Bull, Live Nation and Dunlop, while Wineland, the number six ranked rider in the nation, will compete in the AMA/NATC National Trials Series.
“I’m excited to perform on the new Montesa and look forward to expanding our demos into even more places,” Aaron said. “Keith and I will be using the 4RT with HRC 260 kits and programmable ECU’s. We’ve tested the bike and the technology is awesome! We can totally dial in power for all types of conditions.”
Wineland has been riding under the ERE banner for five years and, with Aaron’s help, will be looking for his first national win on the new Montesa next season.
“I’m stoked to get hooked up with the new 4RT Montesa and become their top rider at the Nationals,” said Wineland. “I also get to continue working with ERE and ride at shows, this is a perfect way to improve and promote our sponsors at the same time.”
Both riders will finish out the remainder of the season on Gas Gas machinery but look for the switch to Montesa in early 07’.
“Having Geoff and Keith on Montesa is fantastic,” said US Montesa’s Martin Belair. “Geoff is a living legend in American trials and he will make a great team leader. Keith is one of the sports rising stars and we know that he and the Montesa will have many great results in the future. We are very excited to have them as part of our team. We know that they will reach a huge audience through the ERE shows and at the US Nationals.”
