Jordi Tarres and Gas Gas have decided to end their cooperation after many successfull years. Jordi was the first ever World champion on a Gas Gas and clinched three outdoor titels on the bike made in Girona. After his active trials career, he stayed with Gas Gas to form the school of champions and to take care off training and coaching Adam Raga at Jordi’s house in Rellinars.
Narcis Casas, one of the founders of Gas Gas and responsible for the factory team commented: “This decision wasn’t made because we had any problems with Jordi. He has been wonderfull for us for so many years as a rider and as our team trainer. Gas Gas is in the middle of an important reorganisation and we had to make this decision. Adam Raga now has both the indoor and outdoor World titles and we believe he doesn’t need Jordi anymore to guide him.”
Jordi Tarres said about the decision: “I can only thank Gas Gas for all their support over all the years I have been with them. I think it is perhaps a good thing that after being involved in the competition for so long, I now take on something fresh in my life. I will have more free time to spend with my family and also further develop my company JT7 racing products.”
Finally, Jordi said about Raga: “Adam and me are still very close friends. We have worked together for so many years, and I am sure that Adam doesn’t need my help anymore as he now knows what it takes to be a champion. For sure he will clinch some more titles in the years to come.”
